Scope of Work
The independent study will consist of:
- Research review – revisiting the 2024 paper to link prior findings with NbE prac- tice.
- Technical training – structured learning of Adobe Creative Cloud tools and audio/ narration tools.
- Creative development – writing, storyboarding, asset design, and prototyping for NbE modules.
- Production – two polished microlearning modules: a 1-minute title sequence pan- oramic base video and a 3-minute cinematic title sequence.
- Accessibility – ADA-compliant design, captions, and transcripts.
- Reflection – a 5–7 page report connecting practice to theory and NbE pedagogy.
This scope represents a suggested approach and will be adapted as needed based on ongoing review and feedback from Professor Sangmeister.
Deliverables (Suggested)
- Storyboard package (scripts, visuals, and motion design plan).
- Microlearning Module 1 (1-minute title sequencde panoramic-style video): A base template communicating a core NbE theme in a scalable, repeatable format.
- Microlearning Module 2 (3-minute cinematic title sequence): A more advanced production designed to explore symbolic and cinematic storytelling of NbE.
- Final Reflection Report (5–7 pages).
These deliverables represent initial targets and may be adjusted based on the direction provided by Professor Sangmeister.
Evaluation Criteria (Suggested)
The following criteria are suggested as a framework for evaluation and are subject to revision based on the preferences of Professor Sangmeister:
- Technical competency in video and audio tools (30%).
- Creativity and quality of final modules (30%).
- Alignment with NbE and microlearning principles (20%).
- Professionalism, documentation, and accessibility compliance (10%).
- Reflection and analysis of research-to-practice application (10%).
Closing Note
In summary, this proposal is intended as a starting framework to support discussion. I look forward to reviewing these ideas with Professor Sangmeister and adapting the plan to best align with her guidance and expertise.
